Well i've just eaten one kernel and really enjoyed the taste, like the best almond i have ever had, my instincts didn't tell me to spit it out, i dunno what they are on about 'bitter' to me it tasted very pleasant and i savoured it....i could eat about 50 i reckon, not that i would!
Heart rate has dropped somewhat and i'm feeling a bit more thirsty.

Gareth, lets suppose you eat half a dozen kernels a day. You will find that a bag containing 500 grams (I don't buy mine from JG but the sums still stack up) will last four months or so.
Some people like the taste, some don't. The ones that do not generally have a sweet tooth and are conditioned to avoid natural flavours, relying instead on a diet of Krispy Kreme Kup Kakes and the like.
These people notice that they smell and taste ok for a minute or so but then they become unbearably bitter and make your mouth numb.
Once you are used to them this numbness seems to go. You get to quite like the bitterness. An easy way round it is to chew them thoroughly and wash down with a cup of tea.
The only reason I use the tablets is because I don't like the feel of the sharp edges of the undigested nuts on the way out (no joking). Its also why I eat smooth peanut butter and do not eat peanuts in the pub.
[The above is a long story and probably does not bear repeating on a public forum but it involves de-worming tablets, tubes of pile cream, raw garlic a plastic sieve and six packets of Fybogel before I worked out what was going on.]

When you eat the foods your body is made for (Paleo foods) in a framework that your body is made for (feast-fast, such as IF), it all works beautifully.
I heard about "vit B17" and the FDA and FSA controversy around it a while back.
So, are apricot kernels really that good? Can i buy them in most health shops? Whats the nutrition value?

Get them from Julian graves online, half price at the mo.
It's not something that you're going to notice the difference in taking especially the short term. For £12 or so a year I'd rather give them a go, There's a lot more to gain than to lose.
Nutrition value I would say there'd be no macro-nutrition and not anything to factor into your diet either, it's the micro-nutrients you want them for.

Nutrition will be very similar to almonds, but at the amount you should be eating if you take this into account you are being too anal.
