  1. Default Torniquets and Muscle Growth

I see that the Taser Thread has been closed. Hopefully some of your will have learnt a thing or two which will help improve your bodies.

The next cutting edge technique I have is Torniquets.

As you may know, a Torniquet cuts off the flow of blood and is used when there is profuse bleeding to a limb following a major truma. The same technique can also be used to increase muscle size as training with limited blood flow to a limb (Occlusion) increased growth hormone and can result in new muscle fibres being developed.

I will post further on this subject shortly.

I've heard about this before, some people training while restricting their bloodflow with tight string or such like, can't say I am too hot on the idea.

did this in human physiology and pharmacology practical, max effort grip fatigue test, using a blood pressure band to restrict blood flow and induce tissue ischemia. Gets pretty painfull after a while and when you take the band off it feels pretty damn wierd! the biggest pump you could ever experience, think its called reactive hyperemia. Temporary massive increase in blood flow.

And we should all know by now PUMP = GROWTH!!!

I've heard that training while wearing gimp mask about two sizes too small can do great things for your physique...
Is that in any way related to this?

It's more complex than the pump and as I've pumped for longer that you have been on this planet, I wouldn't post this unless there was some good science behind this.

The net effect of this form of training is an increase in muscle fibres and growth hormone. Whether the benefit is worthwhile is yet to be fully qualified but it is intereting nonetheless.

I will dig out my papers if anyone is interested and post further.
