I'm going to chuck him a mail at some point.
Yeah, I'll definitely go and see him. I have been to him before for a different issue which he sorted relatively easily. I have been living with this for over a year now!

I am a desk-jockey by day too, and have had a lot of issues with a lack of hip flexibility, leading to lower back problems. For me the keys to getting over it were hip flexibility and glute activation.
This routine has worked wonders for my hip flexibility.

Was there any conclusion to this...what did you do to sort it out. Any recommendations?
So far, nothing professionally has been sought out, due to lack of time this season. I have been sleeping in a new bed for a few months now which has basically near enough cured my lower back pain, it's quite incredible. I still get the odd pain, especially when my form ISN'T 100% on deadlifts, but nothing terrible or re-occurring after the workout is over.
My next phase of attack on this is MP's foam roller once I am back from Holiday in September.

Hey James,
Thought I'd throw in my 2 cents, as I've spent the majority of 2011 in the hands of a physio, chiro and osteo.
While they've all been helpful in different ways, its often been confusing having different opinions from them all. My personal opinion is that my chiropractor has been the biggest help with my back.
The exercises and advice he's given me has always been spot on and has also given me the biggest peace of mind.
I've done a lot of reading and research in the last year, as im sure you have, but if you havent come across these articles then may i recommend them to you....
The first is directing specifically at pelvic tilt and had my lower back pain sorted within 5 weeks.
The second is hugely benificial if your a disc jockey, as you describe.....I cant tell you how amazing it feels when doing the simple 'spinal deloads' in the comfort of your chair.
and lastly, Mike Robertsons functional core training series. Really helped me to develop my core strength and posture.
Hope they're all new to you and of some help!

Thanks a lot for your help and information!

No worries mate
Taking a break from the stress of everyday live may have just been exactly what you needed! The relation of stress and mood to back pain is HUGE and often overlooked![]()
