    Have a read here:

CR Society Archives :: CRSOCIETY :: Mess Up Your Heart with EOD (Alternate Day Fasting)

Of course, its only rodent studies but it is likely to be followed up in human studies.

This wouldnt apply to people doing stuff like LeanGains, Warrior Diet, or Fast 5, but it might be a consideration for those doing EatStopEat.

Interesting read, thanks. It is definitely something to consider. Fasting has immense benefits, but as with anything good - there are drawbacks. I think eating between 12pm-7pm only to be optimal for me though, if I feel so much better doing it, surely the damage to my heart is minimal and far outweighed by the benefits.

I feel that leangains style IF is more suited to how we would of eaten as a race 'back in the day', obviously there would be days where no food/lessened were available, but not 100% constantly. Whether or not this means it is better for health or not, I obviously have NO idea

Our hearts would've been stronger back then though, providing our nutrients were available. The amount of cardio and heavy lifting on a day to day basis even puts the most active of us to shame.

For this thread to be taken seriously you should have linked to the original study not a random post on a forum. Having said that, ADF is still experimental in humans. I would like to see more long-term studies but I don't think they would find enough volunteers willing to give up fries, coke and burgers for more that 24 hours, at least not in the US of A.

Sorry, i presumed people round here would be capable of open a link to a discussion that clearly refers to a pub Med study right from the off, then pasting the said study it into Google and finding it, but if the faculties cant handle it then i will make it a tad easier for you:

Chronic alternate-day fasting results in reduced d... [J Card Fail. 2010] - PubMed result
