The 2:1 ratio often touted only ever looked at the short term ie. first few hours PWO. I suggest anyone who genuinely believes in all this fast acting carbs immediately PWO or before you've even finished your last set have a long read at this 64 page thread and make a balanced opinion based on the discussion and research referenced within:
    Against Glycogen Repletion...

The majority of studies of fast acting carbs PWO are funded by supplement companies to sell you what is basically glucose at ridiculous prices.

When you eat the foods your body is made for (Paleo foods) in a framework that your body is made for (feast-fast, such as IF), it all works beautifully.

I must admit my personal experience of putting some carbs (dextrose and maltodextrin) in with my PWO shake in a 2:1 ratio led to my weight going up very noticeably, and not in a good way. I have since cut them and find I am getting on better with just whey after my weights. I read that providing you eat the right foods 2 - 1 hour before your workout that should be enough to still give you an insulin spike during the post workout period.

As with many things, best thing is to try it yourself and see if there is a benefit.
