when i bench press heavy weights i get a pain in my wrist just under my thumbanyone else have this

Try a different grip or gloves or get some foam in between your hands and the bar.
Sometimes a thinner bar can help. You likely just bruised your hand so take some time to recover

I recently had this, when i first started at low weights it was fine then as i gradually increased it was getting worse and worse. Guess what it was???
My crappy form. On my last few reps when i was tired i was bending my wrists backwards towards my head so that they where not in a vertical line with my arm. Started to fix it and pain has gone. Make sure you are getting your form correct first before you add any of the foam crap above.
