Ok, so here I finally am! as of today, Thursday 14th August 2008, I am weighing in at:
18st 6lbs/258lbs/117kg
with a body fat (my scales are accurate, i have been calipered on many occassions and they are similar) of 34%

im 5'10. my long term goal (by my holiday next year, at the end of january) is to get down to about 200lbs with approx 10% bf. i will just have to wait and see what happens in the mean time!

Very brave for posting especially as you are out of shape.
Can I suggest you take some grape seed extract as you seem to have an estrogen related problem and this will help. You should also do cardio after every weights session for at least 20 minutes and keep carbs low apart from post workout and eat plenty of good red meat and keep rest times between sets to the bare minimum.

I certainly reconise that kinda figure, except with out the hair!! And to be fair, you acctually look like me in the bit of face we can see (scary). When I get down to a size I'm happy with my face might appear on here one day!!

totally agree im out of shape man, and im seriously doing something about it. i hope this doesnt affect my entry to this competition, but I have actually been dieting since 28th july. i know this is fast, and probably mostly water, but (and i have been updating my facebook with this honestly so i promise its true) i started at the following
19st 8lbs, 40% body fat
so in less than 3 weeks, i have managed to lose 6% of my body fat and 16 lbs of weight. as i said i know its probably mostly water, but i have been continuously losing (eg on monday i was 18st 8lbs) .
with regards to the estrogen problem- what do you mean? yes i have the moobs, lopsided-ness etc, but unsure what else?
i put on the majority of my weight in 2004, in fact from june-december 2004, i put on almost 4 stone. unfortunately, i am about to come up with an excuse. my parents went through a REALLY messy divorce and i got affected big time. so im terms of stress and therefore increased estrogen production, i can totally understand.
i am wanting to make this change so badly because i am currently in the process of applying for the police. obvioulsy they wont take me if i am this overweight, so im working towards that.
i would be grateful if people could be supportive or criticise with the best of intentions (which i think/hope Simon_m is doing!) as i need all the support I can get. man i could go on and on with the sob stories but i wont!!
