So, have I got the first entry in here? I reckon I have one advantage in this competition, which is that I'm starting from the muffin-top position, whereas most will probably be way ahead of me. But to be honest, I just want to get fit. No-one would believe how out of shape I've become after just a few bad years. Behold Lord Muffin Top! (Should have had that for my username).

Hope people will excuse the anonymising. I don't mind complete strangers seeing my in my boxers, but there are a few colleagues etc, I'd prefer not to.

    Now the numbers:

    Weight: 233lbs
    Body Fat: 73.8lbs / 31.7%

    Waist: 43"
    Upper Leg: 26 3/12"
    Lower Leg: 18 1/12"
    Chest (max inhale): 42 8/12"
    Chest (max exhale): 39 8/12"
    Upper Abs: 38 8/12"
    Upper Arm (flexed): 15"
    Neck: 16 6/12"
Shoulders: 49" (had trouble measuring this)

It's not part of the competition, but what I really want to do is improve my fitness. It's really gone to Hell the past few years since I stopped exercising. So I'm adding in a couple of other stats that I want to see improve over the next three months.

    Resting Heart Beat: approx. 64BPM
    Blood Pressure: 126/76
Waist:Hip ratio - 1.024 (one of the indicators of heart disease is if it's over 1 for a man).

Anyway, here goes - three months to get in as good a shape as I can. I'm really going to try for this. I've never dieted before in my life, but I'll be doing that along with stepping up to some more serious exercise. The aim is to lose 10lbs of fat by the end of the period as well as get the muscles and lungs pumping again. I thought about just doing the fat loss compo, but that's not my goal. I'm after lean muscles and fitness and I don't want to be focusing on any end other than that.

    EIG.

p.s. The rules thread said to post entries in the Member's Pictures Sub-Forum. I'm taking this to mean here as this is where all the previous competition entries seem to be.

Well, I've done badly. Really, really badly. I can't weigh myself right now because it's evening and I've been eating all day, but I suspect I've actually put on a few pounds. I'll check in the morning first thing.

I could just hang my head in shame but I'm not going to. I have eighteen days of the competition left and I'm going to try and make those the healthiest eighteen days of my life. If I can lose 4lbs fat in that time I'll consider at least the last two and a half weeks a success. And if I can, then at least I'll be on the road again to getting fit properly toward the end of the year.

If there's a high-sugar consolation prize of a cake with "better luck next time" iced on the top in butter, then I deserve it. But better I start trying to make amends now rather than two weeks from now.

    Good luck to everyone else,

    EIG.

I can tell you are the sort of person who likes making people smile and feel better, so I hope you get some pleasure from knowing that you just achieved both admirably, cause you definitely deserve to.

    Thank you, LionHair,
