Hahaha, indeed well I tell myself theyre there, just under cover... I'd continue slowly adding if I were you.
Cheers for that. I think all I have managed to do is to get fatter!
Not sure what to do now, cut a bit of fat or keep eating plenty? I want james's abs!!

looking good and well done on improving the lifts
think you have done well mate, you have been on a cut and continued to increase strength. I think you should continue as you have started and go on with lifts such as Hodi suggests
Cheers mate! Although I was not on a cut per sey, just over ate for the first 8 weeks - mistook stalling with not eating enough. Was troughing 3000-3500 cals a day at one point. I took 2 weeks reduction in food to get back to a more moderate calorie intake.
If anything I have really learnt a lot over the last 3 months in regard to eating and training. I am starting to get really fatigued with the 5x5 at the moment, seem to be stalling and de loading too often, sometimes forget I am 40 - my mind writes cheques my body cannot cash!
Unfortunatly personal events have taken a high priority so training has to reduce/stop for a while.
Sorry to hear you will hold off for a while Tony. Hope you can get back into it soon. if you have learnt tons though over last few weeks then thats great. and even more you share those with others, both good thing and negative things that have helped/hindered training, I know that I have always taken on board your advice which has helped me
dont be daft about being 40 - thats nothing. look what what you managed with your training and the progression you have made. I hope you are able to keep up with the training and progress that even further.
