The basic rule is....kcals in < kcals out = weight loss.

Good clean wholesome foods, with resistance training (weights) and a little sprinkling of cardio on the top.

Check out the fat/weight loss section for ideas for diet and workout to begin with.

Sort the diet out first though, as no amount of training will help you if your eating pants.
    PB's as of 2010: Deads 220kg, Squat 200kg(190 currently) , Bench 115kg,

ps, try to think of it not as a diet, but as a 'new way of eating'.

    hey welcome to the forum.

post up your diet at the moment (what you eat daily, at what times and amount) and training routine you are doing or plan to do.

resistance training will also be a biggie in helping you achieve your goals.

agree with LH. once you start feeling great from the change in diet and workouts, you will want to keep that feeling and not go back to your previous diet.

This is good advise, and exaclty what I tell people face to face (only I then charged them for the privilege!).

Please don't think that cardio is the only way to lose weight, this is the saddest myth in women trainee's. You need a good quality healthy diet, with some weights and a small amount of cardio work.

Saying that, your current ability may not allow you to do a great deal to begin with. Perhaps start with 3 x 20minute fast walks everyday, make sure they make you break into a sweat. This will help build your base fitness for 1-2 weeks before stepping it up again.

Good luck, I know it's not easy but the results are well worth the hard work.

A simple diet to try and follow is to only eat fresh foods that are cooked by yourself - so as much fresh meat, vegetables, fruits, beans etc as you want just nothing out of a packet.
