Do you not need to be a student to join the uni gym? Id feel a bit of a bell end going there and if i get talking to anyone have to say im not a student just work at a crappy factory lol. I might just go to the other nearest one to me but its full of chavs that think they're even badder because they're muscley.

Todays been probabley my healthiest day this year! lol.. i usually only really eat mid day and at night but todays been different heres a rough guide to what iv had.

Wholegrain shreddie-type cereal + whole milk
    apple

    porridge oats with whole milk
    glass of milk
    handful of mixed nuts

    more milk

homemade beef curry with onions, peppers, tomatos + more
    wholegrain pasta
    pint of water

    milk
    banana
    handful of nuts

I feel nice and full now instead of empty! Hopefully i can keep up this good eating.

If it's like my uni gym then anyone can go. No one will be able to tell you're not a student anyway, they wont make you wear a badge lol

If any students bother you just say "tax dodger" and carry on your workout whilst they get back to the endless bicep curls

I've just weighed myself and i'm at bang on 9.5 stone! That's the most iv ever weighed, but knowing my body i'll be back to 9.0-9.1 stone in the morning lol hopefully not though i was well pleased when i seen it on 9.5 lol

I weigh myself first thing in the morning (after the loo ).... then the record-keeping is consistent . Or it fluctuates too much during day...food + water etc... affect it

nah, being a student is a lot cheaper but even a non student price is still cheaper than the high street gyms.

you shouldn't get any hassle from people anyway, the gym is for everybody. besides students, uni staff, its associates and members of public go there.

bet you the chavs at that gym aren't really muscly, just skinny.the chavs should'nt give you any hassle as they'll be too busy with chest and biceps.

as long as you eat clean and eat big, then you'll progress.

the diet could be better. you need to up the protein and fruit and veggies.

I'll look into that then mate, thanks for the advice.

It's like a 10er a visit at Virgin or David Lloyd how scandalous is that.

It's keeping up with the protein that im gonna find the hardest as it's just so expensive, my mum only really cooks tea so anything else i have to get myself. Also i need to try get some protein in in the morning meal, is packaged beef/turkey/chicken any good for protein? or is it best to stick to fresh meat.

    eggs is best for breakky.

what do you mean by packaged meat? stuff like tinned meat or stuff like sliced ham/chicken from the chillers?

choosing your gym also depends on convenience of access and costs. if its miles away and even if its cheap, it aint worth it as the extra costs of travelling.

my uni gym costs 4 quid per go for non members, but priority is given to members. but thats just my uni gym.

A couple of cheap protein sources are eggs and tuna.

    Stay away from anything packaged.
