52.5kg, got down in the hole, i was ass to ground and i tried to fire up and nothing moved, tried again and nothing moved, i was like holy **** what am i going to do so i just rocked forward and the bar fell onto the safety rack things

some guy starred at me, so i looked at him, didnt say anything tho

anyway did 6 reps next set, no way am i letting a lump of metal beat me, although i was doing them quicker this time, no pausing down in the hole, it was almost like i was getting the extra power similar to if u do 2 max jumps in a row the 2nd one will almost always be higher

should i be pausing slightly in the hole or firing up straight away?

heh, if you stop at the bottom and you lose the tension it can be a b*tch getting it back again. Cant remember what its called again (Stretch-Shorten or something). Theres actually a training methodology where you do stop and release the tension at the bottom then squat again. Its nothing to worry about - just keep it a constant motion.

I wonder if anyone here does the tension release thing?

Wouldn't the tension release thing be box squats?
