when people say initial loss of weight is primarily water, what is this?

if you have upped your water intake to 3L, will you still be "losing water"??

lol - i know that the hard way unfortunately!

just been on this v-diet for 7 days today and up until yesterday had lost 11lbs.

i seem to be drinking just plain bottled water of probably at least 3L a day and wasn't sure if by drinking so much my water levels would be the same (ie not "losing water weight") and therefore would actually be more fat loss??
