  1. Post Man boobs = Not cool

    Sometime around my teen years along with a few stone of weight gain i developed man boobs. Think is i hate them, and so as some of you may remember ive been training again. I changed my diet and now during the week i have the following;

    06:00am - Bowl of cereal (Anything really)
    09:30am - Handful of nuts and piece of fruit
    12:30pm - Handful of nuts and piece of fruit
    03:00pm - Handful of nuts and piece of fruit
    05:00pm - cookel meal, sometimes its crap like pizza, other times its chicken salad etc so it varies.

    Ive now roughly lost a stone and i feel quicker and lighter, but these man boobs havent budged, i know its silly but i keep having the following thoughts;

    - If i lift weights im not going to lose weight, and the man boobs will just get bigger

    - Its a medical condition

    - Its not man boobs, its just low self esteem

    I currently weight 13 stone 9, down from 14 stone 8 and for about a year i was really into weight lifting - To combat the man boobs, but although they got firmer they never really developed into pecs. I mean i can tense them, and you can see them change a little bit, but i dont know its just hard to think that i can actually change them.

    I would ideally like to go back to how i was in my youth E.G skinny, but i want some muscle as well. but i dont want to make these man boobs any bigger. Ive changed my diet so i can actually lose weight, which is happening slowly but i dotn want to be bigger and peope say "He hasnt lost weight at all"

    Generally gyno has a lump underneath the skin, if you cant feel anything then its just fat.

    Muscle fibers in the chest run horizontally not perpendicular, the chest tends to get wider rather than stick out more. Lifting weights will likely help the siutation

    end of the day more muscle, less fat.

    The diet is pretty poor, look up the beginner stickies or other diet threads to get an idea of a good diet

    But what i mean is ive lifted weights before, i used to bench press religiously yet i never really got much change except for a bit more firmer. I cant feel any sort of lump, but without graphic detail ive got a handful that i can just grab on my chest, so maybe it is fat?

    Just checked your pics, it's just fat bro.

    I've had a quick look.

    Im sorry this is gonna sound harsh, but its because you're a bit too fat and you have not much in the way of chest muscle.

    Benching isnt a good chest builder as the delts and tris generally take alot of the work. Cable work is generally alot better if you want chest muscle

    Furthermore you can lose weight BUT your shape will remain identical if you dont have muscle mass...you will be a lighter version of your fatter self.

    Hit the weights 3 times a week, eat a good diet, get stronger and the rest will take care of itself

    From your pictures, you just have fat and barely any man boob at all.

    Burn your fat down with a better diet. Currently your diet is pretty poor. Cereal is crap, so is pizza(ready made rubbish atleast). It all starts with proper diet.

    Please dont say the nuts and fruit is bad Is it? Took me long enough to dwindle it down to that.

    The pizza and cereal was just to inform you that them 2 meals arent specifically structured, so could do with some help there if anyone fancies it?

    Please dont feel that you are being harsh, i generally need to be TOLD what i have to do, or i will continue living unhappily.

    Moneys a bit tight at the moment, so all my fitness stuff is in my room [Exercise bike, bench with barbell and dumbells and 70kg in weight, chin up bar and bunch pag, sit up bench]

    Nuts and fruit are fine although I would ceratinly add in a proper meal at lunch. What height and age are you?
