    Hey everyone,

Well been a few years since i have been on this forum and logged a few posts but Im looking to come back and gain the knowledge of fellow MP members.

I am looking for a quick start before my holiday so have thrown down a few stats to help.

    Age: 22
    Height: 6ft1
weight: 178 lbs or 12.7 stone
    Fat: Around 15%

Goal: Gain lean muscle and lose the fat ready for the beach on 12th March. I am heading to Mexico and would like to tone up before then and really get ready before after the holiday to hit the gym.

Current Diet: I am eating healthy, 3-4 meals a day without the junk, nice proteins and mixture of carbs and veg.

Current Exercise: Not doing too much bit on and off, sometimes i do body weight and sometimes weights.

When i was first here i got told start with 5x5 stronglifts. Is this still about or have you all moved onto anything else? Where should i start?

Any help here will be great, routines, tips etc

Hey thanks guys, so any advice on where i should start again. Does Stronglifts 5x5 seem to be the starting point for most still or is there something else out there?

Hey luk_88! I have similar state to yourself...Maybe 16-17% bf and similar goals, albeit I am giving myself a few months to get down to 10-12% bf. What is your diet and protein/carb/fat breakdown?

Welcome back..i just cameback yesterday after re-joining the gym from a 7month lay off...SL 5X5 is a very good way to get back into things..it'll build your core up plus burn some Kcals..id say start running 5-6 times a week..some HIIT training..im currently running 6 times a week 3 HIIT sessions with 3 light cardio with heavy weights routine on non HIIT days...been doing it for 2weeks nearly and have seen good signs..my diet isn't really sorted need to dig out my old notes and excell spreadsheet to see what i was eating lol...mainly doing squats,deadlifts,chin/push ups as these work multiple muscles..then throwing the rest to work on individual areas...im sure you're wise enough not to jump straight into it..good luck
