    Hello!
    Recently I've been training for joining the territorial army, I'm now almost ready for the 1.5 miles in 10min30, but I'm picking up rock climbing 3x a week, and the TA will beast me most Wednesdays as well as on the weekends.

    My question basically is.. Rock climbing will not work my entire body, so what should I do in order to hit the parts that are not? I was considering a bodyweight workout. (I need the pressups anyways!)

    My stats are:

    188cm (6foot3)
    178lbs
    ~14.5%bf

    If I lose any more weight I am likely to look quite skinny, so I was thinking of starting on ~3.5k kcal for 2 months and then re-evaluate? I'm not after the big and bulky look, just something respectable and athletic ;p

    Any input would be appreciated!

    Whats the requirements? chances are your pushing muscles will need some work.

    As for food Im guessing you mean around 3500kcals :P that sounds likea good start, just see how it goes!

    Been thinking about the TA myself recently.... may be asking you for advice at some point

    If you mean army requirements, then it's along the lines of (for my age)

    1.,5 miles in 10:30 (14mins through basic training though)
    ~44 pushups in 2 mins
    ~50 situps in 2 mins

    I forget exactly, but roughly that.

    I'm only just starting basic! But if you need advice up to that point, sure ;-)
