Hello all,
I'm a long-term beginner.
Currently training for a bout in about 4-5weeks time. I'm trying to sensibly cut weight for a change instead of a mad 2 week diet that nearly destroys me.
I train 7 days:
Mon - dinner hill sprint, evening weights (DB Bench, Dips) and 20min cardio
Tue - dinner 4mile jog, evening 2hrs boxing
Wed - dinner circuits, evening weights (seated row, deadlift, chinups) and 20min cardio
Thurs - dinner 4mile jog, evening 2hrs boxing
Fri - dinner simplefit 20min & 15min jog, evening weights (shoulder DB press, Leg Press, Lunges) and 20min cardio
Saturday - morning 2hrs boxing
Sunday - 8mile steady jog
Sunday is really a rest day, I would walk 8miles but it would take ages.
I didn't do weights really for the past year, just due to laziness. I've now done this routine for about 3 weeks and am really enjoying it. 4 weeks ago I did a full body workout 3 times a week but this killed me.
I do the cardio on a cross trainer at 120bpm from my heart rate monitor. I dream that this will not kill off my precious glucose reserves but will just burn some fat without effecting performance the next day.
The one fly in the ointment is that I am not losing weight. I've only added in the evening cardio this week.
I eat around 2k - 2.5k calories a day and track roughly in livestrong (as the foods aren't always accurate) typical macros are:
Cals 2292, Carbs 209g, Protein 173g, Fat 85g
Cals 2368, Carbs 240g, Protein 204g, Fat 84g
I also have cheat night Saturday
Breakfast: Scrambled egg, bacon, mushroom
Dinner: MRP meal replacement
Tea: Variable, generally meat and veg
Drink: Loads of cups of tea
Snack: Aldi harvest morn
I am looking at purchasing the followiing supplements, does anyone think this will help?
Acetyl L Carnitine
BCAA Plus
Cod Liver Oil
Mega Green Tea Extract
Sorry for the excessively long post and thankyou for reading.
Any advice is much appreciated as long as its not brutal![]()

Hi dear,
What you think, taking dieting and training supplements is good for the health?
In my opinion it is not good, because these supplements are not effective for our health and have a number of side effects for our health.
What your opinion about it?
Umm that's wrong.
Don't listen Tony, supplements can be a great help to your goals. I am currently taking all the ones you have suggested, I am not sure about the mega green tea extract having much effect on my weight but it's packed full of antioxidants so it's good anyway, same goes for the cod liver. BCAA's are great for fasted cardio, something you might want to look into. It has helped me with cutting.
Personally I would reign in the cardio and do more weights. You are also at risk of burning yourself out.
Height : 6ft 2"
Weight : 85.2 Kg
any comment?
