Why don't you lift? It's quite an integral part of the system.
I personally would lift over hiit everytime.
Sometimes to get what we want we have to do things we don't enjoy...![]()
I've been doing the IF program for almost a month now, and I think I have almost nailed the eating routine, and it seems to be working really well. But having read just about every post on the web and this forum about IF every man and his dog advocates weights. I don't weights simply because I enjoy my HIIT stuff.
However in order to make my heart compromise with my mind, I was thinking that I could cycle (month long) weights with cardio. One month on weights one off. Is that more bad than good ? and should I just stick to what I am doing, or switch to weights for say 3months or so...
tks

@badly point taken, its just that I like cardio and the burn, and don't have enough days in the week to add weights, hence must drop which leaves me feeling as if I missing out . If I can cycle that way I can convince the mind that I am nt missing out

You are missing out. Trust me.
I'm not a weight freak cardio phobe when I say that either, incorporate resistance exercise into your routine for optimal results (fat loss I assume hence why you IF)
ive been doing if now for about 9 weeks and have been losing on average over a pound a week just by lifting,no cardio oh sorry i walk the kids to school in a fasted state twice a week. you dont need cardio like HIT, supprised your not fecking knackered and burnt out.
Just to clarify IF is not a protocol that HAS to be followed by what it how much exercise needs to be done, intermittent fasting is just abstaining from food WILLINGLY for a period of time.
Whether you run jump cycle swim or lift weights during that fasted time you are still IFing
tks guys, am doing IF to lose fat and also because it seems to make eating easier. As for weights, I just want to ensure that I maintain muscle. I guess the question is whilst doing what I am doing will it benefit me more than doing cardio. I might just switch to weights for Feb and see what happens...
