cos you're not used to it. you'll be fine after a few sessions.
i work out 3 times a week, tuesday, thursday and saturday.
i go to the gym between 1-4pm but on tuesday i workout around 11, the saturday just gone i squatted 97.5kg and come tuesday knowing i wouldn't be able to squat 100kg i kept it at 97.5 and couldn't even finish my sets, nothing is different i still eat the same thing before the gym yet my lifts are struggling. my lifts after my squats seem to improve. and i don't usually need to lower the weight.
cheers

i've been working out like this for a while, thinking about getting up earlier and eating a bigger breakfast, see if it makes any difference.

is it always lie this?
rest up a day longer and ill bet you will hit it.
I actually prefer to train earlier. There are many reason why you might not be able to train as well. It could be a psychological issue where you believe you are stronger later on. It could be nutrition to blame with a lack of calories/protein.carbs/fats etc...
Have a good warmup, have some coffee preworkout and have some music to get you alert and ready.

Goals for 2011/2012:
ATG squat: 200kg 10+ reps Deadlift: 200kg 10+ reps Log press: 100kg 10+ reps -> Win Britains' strongest junior.
il probably try warming up better
i don't like coffee but i do take pulse, though i only use it, to use it up, as it doesn't work, the caffeine does not make any difference no matter what dose i take.
it is always like this, and i cant rest up longer as its a three day routine and i already have 2 days before early my morning workout anyway.
i should probably add, i get up at half 7, makes my breakfast, dinner then shower etc, eat breakfast drive to college, have an hour and half lesson, drink pulse at half 10, then go to gym at 11.

That's plenty of time to wake up. I usually get up at 7, and start training at 8:30.

Could be an element of 'self-fulfilling prophecy' there!
But seriously, there could be any number of reasons for this - there are so many possible confounding variables that could come into play.
There are diurnal or circadian rhythms to all manner of biological, metabolic and physiological mechanisms, which could be the case here - it may not be specifically diet, rest or sleep related (as in conscious manipulation of).

Focus, I was getting up at 5.30 to train at 6 and water is really all that's needed, your blaming the time when it's something else, on the starting strength site there is a fantastic article on mind over matter and another on 70's big if you search for it, basically do your session before you even get in the gym! See yourself completing that final rep
