So...

Training has gone okay so far, and ive made progress from where i last was..but

Im not at the size I want to be, so Im going to bulk up again.however, i have a shoulder injury and physio appointment in a months time, so i dont want to do anything like squatting ( the injury was aggrevated by tight shoulders when gripping the bar ), or bench etc

As such i have been doing some calisthenic type stuff...lots and lots of chins/pulls, one arm training ( managed a 2 second one arm mid chin pause yesterday ), press ups, pistols etc

I'm also wanting to finish stronglifts, but im not sure whether to go into a bulk or finish 5x5 once the shoulder is good to go

got my lifts up to ..

squat 102.5kg 5x5, bench 72.5kg 5x5, deadlift 180kg x1

Current issues bothering me:

- shoulder injury

- my knees bow when squatting (seeing physio soon)

I'm also wanting to start martial arts, and have found a great place near me.£60 a month for gym membership with unlimited MA classes, including MT,MMA jujistu..the trainer is Gary Baker, who has trained with Brock Lesnars coach! sounds good !

tbh it sounds like you know what you want - yes the shoulder injury is a hinderance, but you've got a plan for fixing it, then once that's out of the way, you can move on. However, whilst i'm sure they're not mutually exclusive, you may wait before a major bulk/SL push:, if you start a martial art, some lend themselves to leaner frames. Just a thought

If you want to get bigger change from SL to a hypertrophy routine, as Madgeman said though martial arts is less about size. I would be looking into developing flexibility, power endurance, core etc. Martial arts also has a high rate of injuries even in training so be prepared for some.
