I've often wondered this, while doing strength training you don't 'grow' as much as while doing HST, so is there still a point to bulking?

strength gains are greater on bulks... for me they are anyway. You may not put on as much muscle but you certainly will put on some!

Ye I bulk all the time, but I only slightly go over maintenance so I retain my body weight, then once at 80+ kg I will cut down 2kg every time.

strength training is more about CNS fiber recruitment but bulking does help; recover ect.. That its easier to cut and keep strength then cut and keep muscle (if you now what you are doing), as the CNS has recuited a certain amount, if you lose strength it is alot easier to get it back (muscle memory or CNS memory).
