I did this over the xmas period and lost 3/4 of a stone as a result. Everyone has said 'oh you've lost so much weight' which is depressing!

Everyone needs time to chill. I went through a stage where the weights stopped completly and all i done was cardio when i was preparing for my Royal Marine PRMC. I lost about 2.5 stone. And only in the last 4 months have i got back onto things in terms of weights and diet, even though im mostly doing conditioning workouts,im now weighting in at 73/4kg and benching 85 for reps so im not too dissapointed tbh. It comes back a lot quicker than you think!

Take some time out mate,it will do you good!

Tell me about it, I've lost nearly a stone of muscle since my injury, and people go my you've lost weight (saying it as a good thing). I think to myself god, have I lost that much muscle?!

He was a fatty!? Get the pics out, that should be good motivation to see what you've achieved. I was a fatarse kid and made a lot of progress to lose lots of fat and then to build up some muscle but injuries and operations and screwed me completely so im stuck in limbo between being chubby yet sickly light and small, its horrible!

give it 6 weeks before changing back. If you are shrinking it will be easily recovered. Muscle memory is a great thing!

Exactly, I have the same problem at uni and it doesn't help playing rugby either. Also means the following day is a right off for training.
Don't wish it was easier; wish you were better

Well thats where those who are disciplined will achieve results and those who don't won't. I know what perspective you're coming from, I tried to do both in my first year at Uni (playing football, training for football, going out 4/5 nights a week AND going to the gym).
But believe it or not you will get bored of the whole drinking malarky come 2nd year to an extent, I was the biggest drinker out there (downing pints of neat vodka lol) and never turned a chance to go out and get rat ***** down. But this year the idea of it seems boring quite often.
