Does sugary foods (sugar in tea, a bun, biscuit etc) affect your lifts compared to if you just ate healthy?

It'll likely give you an increase in capability in a short term but reduce it very quickly (sugar high followed by slump) so it's best to have slower release carbohydrates.

I would also say it largely depends on what your diet is like overall. If you're eating sugary crud all the time then your energy levels would be fluctating wildly.

sugar is amazing! I take a bag to the gym and have a teaspoonful (well, I measure out 5g on my digiscales to be extra precise) after EVERY set, generally it adds 50kg to all my lifts.

once I used 5.04g per serving though and it made me really fat so be mindful of the extra few mg!

I believe they only use it in the shower as an exfoliater.

For this purpose granulated is superior to caster and icing.

I tried using honey and syrup once, needless to say nobody bent over to pick up the soap while I was showering.

You maybe right. However, substitutes like Sweet 'N' Low are fine

What about sugar cubes? Have heard that they can't test for granulated sugar if taken in cube form and so athletes are now increasingly doping with it.
