I've decided to go on a cut for the very first time after seeing guys who I would consider to be skinny and they can actually look pretty good when cut up...

I know all the basics and theory behind going on a cut... But what I'd like is for people to explain the best way to start a cut...

Should I include cardio right away or jsut drop kcals for the time being, etc???

    Cheers!

In my view, and it is only a personal view, start dropping the carbs. Then knock them out after mid-afternoon. Go to Serge's thread and see what he did. He knocked out the carbs. You should think about doing the same.

The body's carb requirement is around 120 grams per day. You can supply this through the diet or (much less efficiently) allow the body to satisfy its glucose requirements by making it from protein.

Ergo, by taking the minimum required amount you are sparing the protein in your diet.

Cardio, again in my view, does nothing to speed up weight loss that building extra muscle will not do. Extra muscle does it more efficiently and with less metabolic stress.

Mild cardio improves your mood, circulates the lymph, massages the internal organs etc. and quite frankly a good stiff twenty minute walk should be a part of everyone's daily routine somewhere along the line.

Going mad on a treadmill machine will not get you where you want to be. Intense cardio exercise is catabolic in its effect - you will start to lose muscle as well as bodyfat. Eventually the body will hold onto its fat reserves and you will become skinny - but with a cortisol-induced potbelly. Not a good look. The same effect occurs with older males that go on a diet. They lose muscle but not the belly-fat and consequently look like a bomb on matchsticks.
