how do you mean by pulling your shoulders in?
So i read that for a normal bench press you're meant to pull your shoulder blades in in an attempt to stop your shoulders from taking over and to keep the chest doing the work.
Just wondering if you pull your shoulder blades in for incline bench press and also CGBP? Cheers.![]()

Think he meals pinch your shoulder blades together. Another way to save your shoulders would be to stop 2 inches above your chest.

i tuck my elbows near a 45 degree angle, pull my shoulders down and back, and flare my lats out. i find it helps me stabilise the weight more and can go heavier.

Actually, if you bench heavy you feel it much more in your lats than shoulders which is quite weird!
With inclines, only raise the bench by 30 degrees max. otherwise there's too much shoulder involvement.
agree with the chief, my lats are slightly sore the next day after benching aswell.
