You won't look a novice, nor does it matter what you look like!
Start light if you're worried about form, watch some vids - its pretty straigh foward. If you're still worried just ask someone/training partner to watch and comment on it.
When you start them you'll feel them hit your traps big time aswell! I've never felt anything hit my traps as much as these!

most peopel mainly cause they use the wrong form too stimulate chest even gota feel it in the chest like doing flyes with a partial rom to keep tension on it is better than full rom for alot of peeps

Shoulders are by far my weakest point aswell and the area I'm really trying to improve upon vastly. I guess its because when I started training, I trained my back, chest and legs and ignorance allowed me to forget shoulders!
I probably had my best ever shoulder session this evening! Felt so good after it, such a good feeling when you hit a weak area of your body and you hit it HARD! I really went hard on them today and didn't talk to anyone in the gym, just pure concentration.
I've found lateral raises, with good form, not going too far past 90 degrees, to really help my delts, especially my posterior delts.
A winner always has a plan.
A loser always has an excuse.

Hit chest with different degrees of incline, make sure you protect your elbows when doing flys, don't bother doing incline and flat DB bench in the same workout. Also agree, if you don't feel the chest workout in your chest it isn't stimulating the right muscles.
Bison posted a really good chest routine ages back that helped me a lot.
I can't get my lateral delt head to grow. Instead of a nice mound of muscle all you can see on me is the end of my collar bone, so not sexy.
As a noob, i really need to pack on mass everywhere, but what lacks most are my arms in general (12 inch around.).
again, chest for me definitely. I think i may have been sacrificing form for using heavy weights...which is stupid i know so im gonna go a bit lighter and really concentrate on working the muscle, see if that makes a difference.
