I've found Luffers thread on Whats your lagging bodypart ?? a very good read.

So, I thought I'd start one in a similar vein... but a bit different. Instead - post here what your favourite lift / exercise is and why you luv it so
    Come on share the luv.......

Me... I luv Deadlifts only been training since April 2007 (female, 5'7", currently 11 stone 11lbs...) I do 'em once a week, in 2-sets during a twice-over full-body circuit lasting 60mins. My PB is 2x sets of 20-reps at 60kg. I feel like the king (queen?) of the castle when I've done them - I find them really meditative - chills me out (even though it takes effort to do properly, not wobble etc.) I get me best feelin of achievemnt on this far above any other exercise I do. Clean and press comes a close 2nd.... plus it helps I'm stonger on these than my hubby (I'm a bit competitive he he).

Me + hubby do the same exercises - we currently do an hour of bodyweight based exercises (inc. plyometric squats, burpees, push-ups, lunges, star-jumps etc.) on Mondays.. and we do an hour-long full-body workout on Wednesdays with free-weights (DB curls, deadlifts, DB squats, tricep extensions, flyes for chest etc. etc.). I'd like to do 1x more day of weights + another day just for carido (might give tabata a go)... then I'd get to do more deadlifts.

I'd say deadlifts too. I love 'em. Closely followed by chin-ups. I know what you mean about getting a big sense of achievement out of deadlifts. They work the whole body so hard abd make me sweat like no other exercise.

I love chin-ups/pull-ups but get pretty frustrated with them if i plateau on the weighted ones.
Them and bent over rows are the shizzle.

Yeah - 'cos Monday's I throw in some weight swiss-balls crunches at the end of the BW exercises... by Wednesday when we do our free-weights... I get a pleasant surprise when I do my deads... always end up saying "hello again" to my abs - and end up feelin' themmore (& more DOMS the next day on them always follows)... the human body is an amazin thing.. never fails to interest me how it all connects together - I never use to undertsand how deads would get me better abs/flatter tum... but just goes to show eh?

If I have a really good sesh on the deads then every time my BORs suffer But the next week they improve (even if it's only 1 more rep)... so my improvement on deads must strengthen me up for the following weeks training.

Probably the split snatch. I'm utter rubbish at them, but that exercise has works it all - total body strength, power, and stability

    Undoubtedly squats.

I love the feeling in my quads when pushing up on those last few torturous reps and the satisfaction of completing all the reps plus some is unrivalled for me.

If I could only do one exercise it would be squats, a big set of quads are more impressive to me than big pecs.

I wish squatting gave me big quads It just seems to give me a big ass. Actually since squatting with oly lifting shoes, my quads have improved.
