lol, yup tis normal.
Lately I've been squating heavy with the mind set of "a**e to the grass"!
I have noticed that my DOMS are also included in my behind, is this normal? As I used to do what has been called a half squat, drop down so that my legs are just above paralell to the floor and never really felt it in that area. I don't want to end up with a huge bum! (also my hams feel like they have been hit ALOT harder)
Legs:
Squat
Leg press
Calf raises
All 4x6 ultra heavy to failure.
Thanks

ATG is not the be all and end all, squat as far down as what's comfortable for you, yes you will get better development going to parallel but to go below is not necassary IME! The doms you are feeling in your butt is because once below parallel the glutes are activated and carry the weight from there on, great if you are a power lifter but If you are trying to work your quads you will get little growth going below parallel.
Nicely said, I train quads and hams on seperate days so ATG is a no no for me. All (well most) exercises have their time and place and should be utilised to acheive the most efficient gains in whatever it is you want to acheive. Don't get dragged along in the hype of this that and the other or you will have to change your routine on an hourly basis![]()
