Are you kidding?
Hi
I usually work stronglifts, I weigh approx. 76kg, stronglifts - squat: 77.5kg, deadlift: 85kg, bench: 40kg, shoulder press: 25kg. I have only failed 5x5 on the shoulder press.
I'm looking for a chest focused workout to tone it up as best I can for a fancy dress night in a month. I will need to do some shoulders and abs and change my diet but can anyone make any suggestions? I'm happy to rest on my legs and not work my back as much for the next month.
Thanks

I would say thats specialisation and only when your a world class Powerlifter/bodybuilder does this type of technique become useful, dude stick to the stronglifts programme, increase your lifts lots, eat like a horse, sleep like a baby and your chest will grow like a weed.

What khris's said. When you can shift twice them numbers, then think about different routines.

Had you replied a little sooner I would have helped- you say you want to tone your chest for a fancy dress party in your first post, forgive me for thinking it's some kind of wind up!
If you want to look better in a month then diet hard and train properly. Personally I think you need to keep training full body workouts and forget about toning the chest.

1 month will not make your chest too much bigger IMO
esp. if you are not training the rest of your body!
you sound like you are quite new to weight training, if so stick to full-body routines, i have been training for a while now, and would just about consider myself "intemediate" and i am doing HST which is full-bdoy routine, and love the gains!
and there is no such thing as "toning" a muscle with just weight training
"toning" is due to calorie deficit/good diet
read the stickies for beginners, helps alot of people
and IMO MB gave a response like that, as you suggested something a bit silly "chest focused 1 month routine"
I understand that good moderators are required to give up their time to ensure forums run well. I have seen a few forums go down the drain due to bad moderation. Could you please point me in the direction of which forum rule I have broken, if, as I assume, this is what you are suggesting. I respect moderators for the time they put into forums but I don't believe this exempts there posts from being questioned or challenged, as long as this stays within the rules. As you can see from Martin's subsequent post there was a bit of a misinterpretation.
Thanks Martin. I can now see how you could see it as a wind up. I read your first post along the lines of 'you don't have a clue.' Thanks for clearing up. As I said I've been on stronglifts for a while. My chest will probably be on show in a month and I was wondering if it was possible to do a one month hit on the chest and if this would show any worthwhile gains or if I should just stick to stronglifts. I'm still have fairly limited knowledge of the best methods and what is feasable.
Thanks

As you can imagine we get the odd weird post as a wind up etc but if you serious and want some help you are in the right place!
As I said, not much can change muscle wise in 4 weeks. You could lose around 4-6 lbs of fat in that time and look leaner. It would be a hard 4 weeks and you'll possibly lose some muscle and strength too.
I doubt it's worth it - in reality no-one will notice and I doubt nobody other than you cares. It's amazing how we can see the little things as so important when the rest of the world wouldn't notice at all. It's like women and fat days, or bad hair days!
Stick with stronglifts and get some beef on your frame. You'll look a thousand times better for it in the long run.
Oh, and say hello and a bit about yourself in the welcome lounge![]()
