I pulled some of my intercostal muscles once, and had problems breathing for a while (i.e it f**king hurt to breath deep!). Could be that. I found gently stretching the area as much as possible helped speed up recovery.
I'm sure a lot of you have picked up various injuries, so I was wondering if I could lean on your experience.
I have an injury which I've had for about a month now. It's sort of in line with my left shoulder and opposite my under arm. Everytime I twist to the left, lie down or breathe deeply I can feel it. I also occassionally get a sort of spazm. It's not particularly painful, more uncomfortable.
I put it down to some sort of pulled muscle, but usually this sort of things goes within a week. Has anyone else had anything similar, and if so, what was it, how long did it take to heal and did you go to a doctor/osteopath/physio for it?
Thanks a lot.

i did the same with intercostal muscle, could even go in a car because of the tilting about! in the end doctor gave me three week course of Volterol tablets, the pain went within 3 days.
ditto intercostals, i was showing someone the movement of bench pressing standing up and u could actually feel the muscle tearing from the ribcage lol![]()
Lol think you might be onto something here! But I feel like such an idiot going to the doctor cuz its hardly painful, just think that doing any weight lifting will make it a lot worse, and i could end up causing some serious damage.
anti inflammatorys, anti oxidants, RICE and stretching should do.
Tom, your nutritionally deep advice usually baffles (and amazes - 17?!) me, but this time, rice....i'm intrigued.
To me rice = grains of rice, but to you RICE = Rain Induced Cauliflower Extract or something?!
