T NATION | 11 Training Tips for the Skinny Fat Ectomorph

I think a lot of this information would also apply to those who aren't necessarily skinny fats. I was definately smooth/slim when I started ie not fat, but still no abs and slim built. A lot of the training suggestions are what I have also found to be true for myself. Points 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 11 (though I don't train EVERY day).

Good article! There are a lot of skinny-fat blokes these days with big hips and waist and little upper body development. Targeted work on upper body width is a good idea.

There is a bit of a contradiction between training every day and being wary of enough recovery, but i suppose you could use something like Pavel's Grease The Grove to do short bursts of training very frequently.

This is exactly me. Unfortunately... .
I am now doing points 1,2, trying 3 lol... I'm doing the SS 5x5 program, so thats not an isolation routine, i do some arm workouts (bicep one, triceps other day).
Going to add sprints at the end of the workout then... few times 100m and I usually do a P90X core workout on weekend.
For now I will stick with SL program, there is some progress visible and i really like it.
