Standing cable crunches. Occasionally some other stuff like weighted sit ups, ab machine and hanging leg raises too.

I do probably about 6 sets of dedicated ab work per week. Depends on what I feel like on the day but exercises vary -
    - cable crunches
    - ab roll-out
    - hanging leg raises
    - weighted sit-ups
    - weighted plank

would pick 1 or 2 of these and do 2/3 sets.
    PBs - Dead-lift - 190kg x 1, Squat - 142.5kg x 3, Bench Press - 125kg x 1, OHP - 72.5kg x 5, Weighted Chins - 37.5kg + BW x 4
    2012 Goals - Dead-lift - 200kg x 4, Squat - 165kg x 5, Bench Press - 125kg x 4, OHP - 80kg x 5, Weighted Chins - 50kg + BW x 4

Ab work is assistance work to bring up the main lifts.

If your main lifts are going up without it, dont worry about it.

If a weak core is preventing you completing the lifts then it might be a good idea to add some.

occasionally hanging leg raise or weighted crunches....

Generally though just incorporate BW crunches + leg raises into my warm-up, pulled an ab muscle once doing chin-up's so ever since have them in my warm up

No, yet I can still out-situp a bleep test, as I did it on Tuesday.

    Balls to situps.
    Rollouts FTW.

My core is still very strong, without directly training my abs. My training journal should give you enough proof, that you don't need to constantly nail your abs directly, to lift decent weights.

That sounds kind of arrogant, but it gets the point across.
