Agree with the others, I'd have signed up already, though I don't think I'd ever venture upstairs!

No, it's not normal. You are incredibly lucky if you want to train like a bodybuilder! Hammer strength make the best machines, all plate loaded. That, plus free weights. Lucky guy!

    thats says it all then.

i went down there yesterday and had a quick look around, never got to go all the way in a check it out fully as other half was waiting in the car but it does look good. never noticed the bench but saw a s**t load of DB's and the squat racks. Also the plate loaded machines you mentioned Wood.

was quite in there must have been about 5-7pm Saturday evening about 8 people how this will change during the week im not sure.. every one i saw was massive abit intimidating to be honest hope the people there are friendly and help you out etc... feels like im starting from the beginning again but thats all good

im sort of in the same situation, my gym is a local council run one but built into a rugby stadium. As a beginner last year it all seemed so good, it has a smith machine, dunbells and an olympic bars etc but recently i have had the feeling that if i am going to achieve my goals it needs to be done properly.
I have actually found a gym around the corner on an industrial site which i am visiting tomorrow on my day off , after speaking to them today on the phone it has squat racks galore and bench press stations i just hope its half as good as the pics that have been shown on yours.
The guy even said they have cardio machines upstairs but not many use it and in regards to feeling intimidated i guess i will too but im sure i will get loads more tips and help off people in the new one and be able to reach my goals quicker.
