Just a quick one about gyms.

I moved today and have an enduction booked for erith lesuire centre just a normal every day gym with pool sports track ect. But some one has told me there is a body building gym (crayford weights and fitness).

I have never been to a bodybuilding gym and I wondered if there is much difference between them compared to a regular gym.

So is there much difference? Please help

I'm thinking to cancel my induction and check out this other place.

Well from what i have seen my normal gym has everything pool, sauna, raquet sports, ect. but might not have all the weights i want
where as the gym i use with my pt is more of a strength training gym and just has loads of weight, some racks pulleys ect but only 1 treadmill its all about stregth rather than cardio which most normal gym are about. so for cardio its more pad work or tyre flips, farmers walks ect. why don't you have a look at both>? also i find theres a completely different atmosphere, i prefer it in the pt's gym to going int he weight section of my normal fitness centre gym. (think its because i don't get looked down on because I'm working out with weights!)
I may not be there yet, but I am closer than I was yesterday.

I'd agree with the others. check out the bodybuilding gym out. Look around both and choose the one that suits you best.

Sometimes a spit and sawdust gym can be cheaper, you will normally find that the situe is less of a welcoming place to Joe Public though, my old gym is in a converted house! There is also specialist gear aimed at the sole purpose of resistance training, be it free weights, a certain machine, or set of machines... or sometimes just a specific brand or alteration of machine/equipment. I would say check it out, you may even find more like-minded people than in a big commercial gym - although beware false information, as always ;P

my mate just popped over turn out he goes to the bodybuilding one.

i managed to look at there web site now and it looks ok, they have cardio stuff it well with tv's etc. it sort of looks like a normal gym but with more weight and machines. im going to cancel my induction and pop down there later.

price is about 3 bones more that erith, but both cost more than the gym i use now but i did get that on student discount which i hope will work again.
