Hi everyone, I'm just about to start a cut today and i really wanna start strong lifts 5x5 routine but I was wondering if I should carry on doing my usual 3split routine which is
    Monday
    Chest
    Triceps
    Abs

    Wednesday
    Back
    Biceps

    Friday
    Legs
    Shoulders
    Abs

Or shall I start the 5x5 routine when I start a bulk again?

Anyone done this routine whilst cutting? If so what was the outcome?

    Thanks in advance

    Luke

Hi Luke, welcome to the forum. Firstly, when you try any routine the first rule is stick to the routine! dont try and change it as you wont get the benefits as intended. Now, onto your goals of bf reduction..you can use stronglifts for this, but only up tp a point. SL is really a strenght/gain routine so you will only be able to go so far on a calorie deficit.
When you do get to this level with it you can either just carry on and lift to your max at the same level, or try another routine such a reverse pyrmaid training or afterburn training (I have done the latter-consists of supersets with no or mimimal rest between sets...works but is deadly!). Aty the moment i am on a cut and going the sl route to get to my max lifts, then will decide what to do next..and it does work, just make sure your diet is right! oh, and try to chuck some short hit cardio in after each session
    good luck

Thanks very much for the quick reply and helpful info, I'll start strong lifts 2mo and start my diet which is just under maintenance at the mo.

    Thanks again

    Luke
