Maybe add in bent over rows, Quality back exercise and the sort of half squat stance might help strengthen the quads?

Do you have a balance board? You can replace squats with some balance work - it'll help your knees. I'm just coming back from a bad knee injury and balance and stability work has really helped get me back to the gym. Try slow one-legged squats infront of the mirror to make sure your leg stays straight, then try just balancing with one leg on the balance board, and progress to doing one-legged squats on the balance board. Or a variety of body weight squats - wide stance, split stance etc.

Your physio has probably told you all this already, but for me it really helped. Which part of your knee did you damage? The balancing stuff helped with my knee stability because my ACL and MCL ligaments were completely ripped so my knee was quite wobbly! It's fine though now and i'm squatting more than before my injury!

Best of luck with the training man! Just rest if it gets sore, you don't want to go through another surgery!
