this summer im going to take 1 day in the week to come out of the gym and train in a completly different enviroment. ive chosen the beach as the best enviroment as there is lots of beams and bars to do pull ups and dips etc. basicly im doing this to hit my body in a completley different way to what its used to, as things that are not designed for use as exersise equipment are going to make everything harder and make the body recrute more muscles to assist, so hopefully i can add extra definition as i feel a bit smooth at the mo (smooth as in not cut) i was inspired by rob riches to do this as he recomends doing urban workouts to break the mould. so join me this summer, find a spot and use that as your gym. id love to hear about your urban workout stories and training regimes.

Some amazing videos of people using children's play grounds. Shed load of bars and stuff to hang off. Though you midget get some odd looks/ police incident report lol.

Not strictly 'urban' but I've been using rings for training instead of barbells & Db's since the new year - Best thing I ever did and my upper body is looking better than ever!

When it gets warmer, I'll take them up to the common for a break from the gym/home.
"Squatting on a Bosu ball makes it so much more challenging!" So does getting tapped in the balls while squatting, want me to do that too?

When I go out for a long walk around the woods on a sunday I'll throw some hill sprints in a few pull ups off braches and generally just picking up some heavy logs, I dont schedule and dont go specifically for a workout (I go for the walk) but its good fun.

ive had really enjoyable jogs when its been throwing it down, not sure why. just in shorts and a t shirt too.

i work in a stone yard and sometimes when people aren't looking il shoulder press odd shaped stone, they even have the big ball shape stones, tried picking them up, not sure what they weigh like, or place the skip further away so i can shot put the scrap into it from a distance, always fun. don't really go out the way to train though.
