Believe me they do not. They get big and fat when the competition season is over
what do you take me for? kind off offensive that post lol

of course they do!!! lol - even I look leaner during the summer than I do during the winter. - you seen lee priest off season? yes, I have too..

but powerlifters and bodybuilders are 2 different kettles of fish..

I was giving my view on him and his appearance, as is everyone else. he's a powerlifter isnt he? that tells me he does look like that year round!

IF he cut that mountain of blubber off him, he would look good, but what fat %age would you say he is now? 30-40%?

Do you think so? I beg to differ. I think it's fairly easy to put on 50 pounds if you lift heavy and eat, eat, eat. Sure you have to put the effort in but IMO it's far harder to achieve the cover model look - lean muscle and mass.

To me he just looks like a big pleb. Sure he could kick my ass if I stood still while he pounded me but at least I could run away and I'll live past my 50th birthday!

Whoever the hell he is those pics are awesome. The ones where he is cut as opposed to that one where he looks like the brick thing from Fantastic 4! His shoulders and arms are fantastic - Jonathan you asked on another thread what a perfect physique would be. That's it right there. That's my goal.

His arms are wonderfully rounded and capped of with bold shoulders and his back is pretty impressive to boot. Obviously the top pic shows the size of his legs so we only imagine they are now as cut up as the rest of him. Bonus points because he looks all natural, i.e. normal sized veins as opposed to 'roid' induced vessels that you see from time to time. an absolute credit to the religion!

Not the same guy as Ryan!

Plus, if the guy in that thread is natural I will eat my olympic bar!

I think the guy looks good for his chosen disipline. I would hazard a guess that some of the excess would also be down to holding a fair amount of water at his size.

As for the other dude, I think his Trap, Delt & Upper Chest developemtn gives it away. And lobster red shade of skin!

In a way he's kinda right. It would just would be 50 pounds of really bad weight thats more easily achievable.

The only reason why a low body fat seems hard to reach is mainly due to breaking that pyschological barrier and acceptance that you will lose some size and strength.

    EXACTLY!

but......if your REALY goal is to look like a cover model you shouldn't care about strength and size can EASILY be maintained and being leaner can make you appear bigger anyway

Yeah, it's funny how the sharper angle can be so deceptive along with a little muscle detail. Darker skin, whether it be natural, tan or fake tan also seems to have that effect.

It must be down to how the brain interprets shapes and outlines of objects. Plus have a decent V-Taper ratio, regardless of your size will always make you appear "bigger".
