I was just wondering what other people were lifting? I was pretty impressed last night (leg day) with 8 reps at 130kg. My hamstrings are weaker than quads (112kg) but I think this is normal because of more use, squatting / DL's etc. Is this normal? Also what are people lifting on their calfs? I'm currently at 200kg for 10 reps and am quite happy to go heavier but the machine is maxed out with extra weight aswell. The reason i'm asking is because I saw a hugggggeee guy in the gym the other night with tiny pins for legs, especially calfs and just wondered how many other people neglect their legs? Again, especially their calfs

I hate threads on who is lifting what. As it really is all relative in bodybuilding terms. Now if your a powerlifter that is a different question.

I'm not knocking this thread by the way. I'm sure it will get lots of replies. Its just a personal thing.

Agreed. The only time its worth mentioning how much weight your moving is in comparing the 'before / after' effectiveness of a new program, supplement, etc.

like stated above it depends on a person's goals and training as to how much weight is shifted. eg powerlifter or bodybuilder. In my gym you don't see alot of squating or deads for that matter, but when i do the majority of lads your age might go to about 100 -110kg(from what i've seen).
i'm squatting the same as you atm and consider my legs as the sh*test part of my body and i don't believe i'm a natural squatter as i've been training legs for a couple of years now. There's guys on here who are under 20 years old and can squat ~160kg -180kg and have only been training a few months! I think everyone's got a naturally strong muscle group.

Thanks turtleboy for a polite answer.

Im a BB but I have upmost respect for the powerlifters and would love to shift some of the weight they do!

    EDIT:
Before I was supping with any form of anything I was doing 95kg on the leg extension. Within the last 4 months I'm upto 130, using creatine

No need to be sorry. I did say it was just a personal opinion and I was not flaming your post at all and I certainly was not being impolite

I'd like to shift more weight too. what i've found in the last 2yrs is that if i train heavy ie go down as low as 2 reps i start to get weaker. eg a few months ago i used to go 10Xbar, 10X60, 10X100, 10X130, 5X140 2x150. It took me a while to build the 10X130, and when i got there i thought sod it i'll miss out the 130 and go straight to the 140 in order to get more reps out. I did the latter for about 4 weeks and progressively lost power! I think what i need to do is keep all sets (or the majority of sets up to about 10 reps) and then add 1.25kg every time i hit 10 reps. It's this stimulas that my legs respond to not powerlifting style. (everyone is different). I've also started doing high rep sets as a 2nd leg WO of the week, eg 20 reps. On MON i'll do squats, leg press, stiff deads, ham curls and calfs. Then on FRI i'll do 20 rep squats, lunges ant leg ext.

So what i'm trying to say is find out what you respond to, everyone's different.
