    All,

I like to go out at the week-ends with my mates and hav a few drinks..however, i always end up getting drunk pulling some fat bird and waking up in the middle of nowhere.

This jeopardises my training programme and i dont seem to get back to full strength until tuesday.

Is there an alcohol that i can drink which wont jeopardise my training..i hear Red Wine is very good for this?

Any comments would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

mate booze is booze, moderation is the key. It doesn't matter what you drink it will dehydrate you resulting in loss of performance, which in turn leads to a decrease in muscle being built. booze also lowers testosterone which in turn leads to the above. The only thing i can think of which might lead to a choice in the booze that i drink, is the amount of Kcals in it. spirits and sherry have the least That doesn't mean go to your local and ask for a pint of sherry I drink every weekend and i'm not giving everything up as i'm not competing. i train 5X per week, i've given up smoking, sorted my diet, and i try not to booze in the week...... you need some enjoyment mate

    Amen to that.

Steve, why not structure your training around when you drink? i.e. if you drink on a Saturday night, go the gym on Saturday morning then rest on Sunday and Monday instead of Saturday and Sunday. I guess it depends what kind of split you're doing.

The problem I've had is that the line of work I'm in has a ridiculous drinking culture. There's usually something happening every week on top of Friday and/or Saturday night.

The other problem might be shagging fat birds. It'll defo weaken you for a while

    Full of fat.

Its the chickens **** that is full of ****. However UK hygiene regulations state that, the rear orrifice of a chicken must be wiped clean of all chicken **** prior to being fed to the UK consumer market
