I went skiing last week in france and i took a week of from the gym, i didn't eat as much as i normally did but in my mind i would make up for it when i returned. To my shock and anger i became extrememly ill on my return home, my food intake decreased dramatically and i couldn't go to the gym to train myself, im still recovering but it must have been over two weeks since i was eating enough. i'm just worried the next time i go to the gym i wouldn't be able to bench or squat the weight i use to and its going to take weeks of training and eating to get back to the strength i was before.

do any of u have an advise or similar experiences or am i over paranoid

There is nothing you can do if you have been unwell, its a set back as simple as that.

As far as benching and squatting what you used to, I you will not be able to lift what you used to but it shouldnt take you too long to get back to where you were.

Illness; something we all have to live with from time to time. Just get back in the gym and forget about it.

Move on and stop worrying about little things like this.

Start eating as much as you can(obviously dont be silly) and the strength and weight will come back within a few weeks.

I'm in the same boast as you, I've been ill for about three days, I felt low for a few days prior but wasn't sure if it was an illness or not.
I know how frustrating it is, I HATE not training. When I wake up ill still in the mornining I think "Not another day I can't train!".
I doubt your training will suffer much when you return though, it's normally just a mental thing. I have been ill in the past and have returned stronger than I was previously, probably due to being fully re-charged and the body having fixed all the cumulative micro-trauma that occurs from continuous weight lifting.
I normally ache twice as much for a whole week after returning though, which is a good thing though as it's the signal your body senses to start the growth cycle off again.

Whatever happens I wish you well.

You should soon get back where you were if you eat well and rest.
And learn from your mistakes, don't get ill again!
