Rab by putting the isolation first it maximises the workload of the pectorals throughout the entire workout rather than just in the isolation set (if it were second), therefore more intense muscular contractions within the pectorals can be stimulated due to the chest already being fatigued after the first set (isolation) is taken to further failiure in the press with the help of the fresh triceps. The pre exaust allows the chest to fail in the press before the triceps = a more effective set for the targeted muscle group.Put simply Workout A (non pre exaust) Bench press, pec deck muscles taken to failiure = set 1:triceps set 2:chest. Workout B (pre-exaust) pec deck, bench press, muscles taken to failiure = set1:chest Set 2:chest. Used in the correct way this is an excellent tool for both strength and size.
