    Hey people,

Ive been training for a few months now, but the last couple of weeks ive been too skint to pay for my gym so i aint been in about 10 days or so.

However i started a new job this week. And after the induction crap and the first couple of starting days, This upcoming monday is going to be my start of routine.

When i wasnt working my life lacked routine, When you have no reason to get up early, you wake around 11am, you eat around 1am, you slouch around and you miss lots of meals and lots of essential intake.

But finally after the number of months ive been out of work i managed to get a warehouse job that is gonna keep me pretty happy for a while, and hopefully give me a good reason to get back into things properly.

Every night when i go to bed i think about training, i think about gaining mass and looking good. So i really do wanna get committed.

    Just wanna ask,

If you were starting fresh, with the choice of anything from MP, and the need to gain mass and size...

What would you buy, and how would you train?

Any replys and advice before monday would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Chris

Job hunting can be a ballache, but well done on landing a job. To be fair all you really need is a big tub of protein (i buy the unflavoured) and plenty of food. I spend around £200 per month on food, plus any supplements I use-right now thats just 1 protein shake per day. The only other thing I'd say to add is maybe creatine. and again this is cheap.

As far as training goes I'd say keep your reps low, keep your weights as heavy as you can handle with strict form. This routine seems to be working quite well for a few around here: http://www.myprotein.co.uk/your-goal...ticle=training

thats a good start. you can alter the exercises/reps/sets as you get to know what you like and/or dislike

I'd also suggest (if you havnt already) buying some decent books. My favs being:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Power-Eating...4749210&sr=8-1

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sports-Nutri...4749231&sr=1-1

    Good luck!

    Thanks for the reply mate.

I tried that routine a bit lately and enjoyed it. Goodmornings are a bit scary but the rest is fine. I think ill stick to that routine for about 8 weeks or something.

I never considered buying a book, but it will be interesting and motivational for me so i will check out the ones you linked.

Im looking forward to a fresh start with good eating and supps.

I think Ragey was spot on. Being unemployed is draining. Being in a job, especially a demanding one, puts discipline back into your life. Good for you mate.

Regarding putting on mass, there are plenty of people here that will put you right on exercise routines. I'm not the best on that score. Although I used to go down the gym a lot I've always prefered bodyweight exercises. These get you fit (very fit in fact) but I doubt you'd ever put on much mass, not as much as if you were lifting weights that is.

As for spending money? Well that's pretty easy in my opinion. Protein, decent multi-vitamins and loads of omega 3s. At 22 you don't need much else. You probably eat enough carbs you probably eat enough omega 6s. Its doubtful whether you have the optimal intake of vitamins and minerals and its almost a certainty thats the case with the omega 3s too.

Building mass takes protein - so take loads of that too. If you find yourself putting on blubber instead of muscle a) train harder, sleep better etc and b) cut down on the carbs (especially the simple ones).

In a nutshell that's it. All that needs to be added is:- don't spend your money down the pub or on fags and go to bed earlier than you would normally.

    Good luck!!!

    Thanks again.

Gonna try to get good sleep patterns sorted. Being up for 6.30 for work sounds bad, but its actually quite refreshing. Im gonna take shakes to work to make sure i dont miss much.

    A question regarding that,...

do you guys just take some powder in a shaker to work then add water when you are there?

When you eat the foods your body is made for (Paleo foods) in a framework that your body is made for (feast-fast, such as IF), it all works beautifully.

Personally, when I was having around 2-3shakes per day, I would make them the night before. I found it to be less hassle the next day that way. up to you really
