I know it is easy to put on weight, but not all of this , if any, is muscle - I've heard 1lb a week used as a guide when bulking, but is it reasonable to put on more?
    Thanks in advance
    PS
I've put on 20lbs in just under a year, but I've trained in the past and have a high protein diet and used creatine.

I just can't see that anyone could do a 1lb a week naturally.

Agreed, 0.5lb per week would be damn impressive. If you want to stay lean 1-1.5lbs a month would be more realistic.

That's the way I'm thinking, I asked the question, following a typical gym discussion. I believe I misunderstood weight gain for muscle gain. It was one of those situations where you walk away and then start thinking hey that doesn't sound right. As I said "I know it is easy to put on weight, but not all of this , if any, is muscle"

52lbs! ie not far off 4 stone! That is a lot of muscle to gain in one year!
    good post

Personally think 0.5lbs a week is a decent lean bulk where you will GAIN fat but muscle at a decent rate. less weight gain maybe means less muscle gain but less fat gain obv.

purely lean msucle with NO fat gain.....1-200g?
