You are the same man with an 8-pack without trying and who deadlifted 140ish when you first started? You are naturally fit.
I have my PJFT tomorrow, for the RN. This involves running 1.5 miles in under 11 minutes. Out of curiosity, I decided to google "1.5 mile times", to see how other are doing. Most of the people who had been asking for help with their 1.5 miler were struggling to do 12 minutes, some even longer! As I do not have that much faith in myself, I wanted to make sure that I could do it, so I went to the gym today to give it a shot. My time was 7 minutes, which I did very happily - it felt like a warm up.
The reason I am so baffled, is because I have not been doing near as much cardio as I should be. For the last 7 months I have been telling myself, "I'll do more next week", when in actual fact, I still did very little. I started training 'properly' about a month and a half ago (I have been away for two of those weeks). I would not have though that this small amount of training would get me so much fitter than these people who are struggling.
So what gives, am I just very lucky, or is the world rubbish?

Well going by a 4 min mile is pro standard, then a 6 min 1.5 mile is pro. And you are not far off this!
in this thread Odevans learns his gyms running machine has gone metric
lol, I was about to say the same thing, I bet that treadmill is in kilometers which means you ran just under a mile in that time.
I very much doubt you could run a 7min 1.5mile and it be "comfortable like a warmup". A 7min 1500m still isnt bad though, and if you carried on at that pace you'd get ~11min 1.5 mile.

I checked! I recall that happening before, so I learned my lesson. Definitely said miles! Maybe my warm up is a little bit more intense than others.
maybe you're just more of a badass athlete.![]()

I have this horrible feeling that what the treadmill says it measures in, and what it actually does, are two very different things.
Epic fail.
I phoned the gym this morning to find out. Even the woman at the desk said that the ones that say "MPH" are in fact measuring MPH, so it would appear that the gym staff are actually confused, too. This makes me feel better, to some degree. To avoid shame and embarrassment, I will make sure that I do indeed hit very good times over 1.5 miles.
