    Go get adult swimming lessons?

Cross trainers and Cycling are low impact on the joints but it depends on what causes the issue. Is it weight on the ankle or impact?

There's a couple of hand bikes at our local gym, I haven't seen them at a lot of places but it's a thought.

Its more to do with temperature and consistent same movement which affects it the most and nope my gym isn't that high tech haha so wouldn't have a hand bike available

Could try bar complexes, when I was doing them they used to get my heart racing.

Get a bar bell and do the following exericses, all without letting go of the bar

    1. Deadlift
    2. Straight-leg Deadlift
    3. Bent-over Row
    4. Power Clean
    5. Front Squat
    6. Push Press
    7. Back Squat
    8. Good Morning.

Do 6 reps of each, then 90 seconds rest, 5 reps, 90 sec rest etc. all the way to 1 rep. Then the next time you do it knock 15 seconds off the rest time. For weight, a good starting point is to do your max for the hardest lift, for me it is push press. If you're not in agony afterwards then you used too light weight. It only takes about 12minutes so it's not ideal, but it will help you.

Is it an empty barbell or weighted and seems like a good set of things to do and would be good to warm up

Put on as much weight as you can manage on your weakest lift, if that makes sense. For most it will be power clean or push press. Honestly, it's not a warm up. You will be shagged if you've gone heavy enough, especially once you get below 60sec rest.
