As a competitive road cyclist I'm pretty satisfied with my training plan on the bike, I'm not so satisfied with my diet and supplements, so would be good to know what any other cyclists on here can recomend me...

At this time of the year, i.e. winter training normally a laid back 2-3hour ride on Saturday and Sunday and an hour or maybe two on the turbo trainer during the week, I'm only using Tri-Carb mixed with water and diluting juice in my bottle, and i take a few MP energels in my pockets for longer rides if I feel the energy getting low. I'd also normally take a few bananas or grain bars with me to snack on during.

After most of my training I take a recovery shake, I've ran out of my current one and am considering buying MP Recovery XS, I've looked through the ingredients of it and it seems like a good all round shake?

Part of my problem is getting a good breakfast in the morning to fuel my training ride, I struggle to force down a small bowl of porridge. Is the MP Instant Oat product a good solution to this problem? I read most of the reviews of it and I'm kind of wary that most people use it for weight gain, which obvioulsy is not ideal for my sport. Any opinions?

I think most of my confusion is that it seems MP gear a lot of their info towards bodybuilding etc so if anyone on here could help me out that would be great!?

    Thanks, Stevie!!

I do a fair bit of trails riding and always go in the morning. For breakfast I always have a bowl of cereal and a shake containing 2 scoops of instant oats and a scoop of protein, really gives a good base of energy to start the day (and ride) I feel.

So basically, yes, get the instant oats, you won't regret it imo. I haven't had any problems with putting excess weight on and I have this shake every morning regardless of if I'm training or not.
