    Hi all,
    So my question is this.

Can I do weights to add to my cycling fitness and enhance my performance and not compromise what I have already built on.

If so what would you suggest?
    Light and high reps?

    Thanks folks!

    yes.

I race road and mtb and also lift weights.

totally opposite of light and high reps.

always go heavy ( i do 3 sets of 5 reps)

brutal squats are a bikers best friend.

Really! Do you find your endurance is ok though?
Also do you just mainly work legs with heavy weights. I guess you do your top half too?

full body. i miss no parts out

my endurance is fine and regularly road cycle upwards of 70miles.

    i focus on

    squat
    deadlift
    weighted chinups
    benchpress
    weighted dips
    bent over row
    overhead press

big compound movements. no light weights no silly high reps either.

I train my endurance by cycling(doh!),walking and sprinting (yes sprints help endurance believe it or not!)
