@ben 21: I never had a meal plan as such - I just winged it from week to week depending on what I fancied and what was available. The nearest thing to a log or a record would probably be my 'Quest for Carnivory' thread (I think I mention some of the foods/meals I ate - may even be some photos!) but it is now a loooong thread, so you may have to click through a great many pages to find them!

For instance, I currently eat something like a basa or salmon fillet (usually baked) covered in a butter, crème fraiche or sour cream sauce flavoured with a little parsley and dill and wrapped in a cheddar cheese omelette.

Otherwise it is something simple and traditional like bacon, sausage and egg! I sometimes have a gammon steak, covered in a butter and full-fat soft cheese sauce flavoured with garlic and herbs and served with poached eggs and a side serving of liver pate.

Don't be defensive Nu was being sincere not facetious.

Going on a deficit is catabolic no matter what you do you will always lose muscle mass. A protein rich diet is muscle sparing but all it does is slow the process down it does not eliminate it and you can't expect to keep your strength up on a high protein diet as its a poor energy source. Just observation but are you holding your tummy in those pics?

As Billy0 said, I was not being offensive or insulting.

We have had similar situations on the forum in the past where someone was asking advice about getting into better shape, losing excess fat and worried that they might put too much on. Then several pages of advice in, it has become apparent the person has an eating disorder or poor body image and the advice that was given - in good faith - has made them even more paranoid.

I just wanted to be sure there was no chance of inadvertently causing more harm.

I've already given some general advice - echoed by Billy0, above - and while I could give more specifics, I'll let some others chip in for a change! All I'll say for now - as you have just confirmed yourself - more dietary protein than is often recommended by mainstream nutrition will help with lean tissue retention to a degree and also help stave off hunger when cutting calories. However, it is not advisable to take this to extremes and make protein the biggest percentage of your total daily intake - it's unnecessarily expensive and a good portion of it may end up as glucose anyway. The only other thing I will add (repeat from an earlier post) is possibly get more dietary fat than you currently do and, perhaps, cut back on carbs a little (less fruit).
