I can't say I've experienced this personally, could it be a consequence of removing coffee from your diet? How many cups were you consuming a day on average?
i have replaced coffee with green tea for all my daily drinking. (I used to drink a lot of coffee).
Does anyone else get a really dodgy feeling drinking green tea when on an empty stomach.
I normally have quite a strong constitution and am never ill. Quite often after drinking green tea either first thing or on an empty stomach green tea leaves me feeling very unsettled... occasionally with the old hair-line sweat and initial fear of being sick.
Anyone else get this? Am drinking twinnings green tea in tea bag form at the moment... can anyone recommend a better brand to try?
Thanks,
Andy

I'd drink 8 a day minimum Mon - Fri.... much less on the weekends.
I have gone cold turkey with the coffee so far.
It could well be caffeine withdrawal then, there's a lot less in green tea than coffee and symptoms like nausea, headaches and stomach upsets have all been reported. It can last up to 9 days from what I've read.
Unless the particular brand of green tea you are consuming state it is decaffeinated or caffeine-free then it will contain caffeine!
The caffeine load from one cup of coffee brewed from fresh grounds is 40mg. From green tea brewed from loose leaves is 32mg. Not much of a reduction.
If you are drinking 8 cups of green tea per day then you are getting around 256mg of caffeine a day. However it is reckoned, for the average adult, 400-450mg per day is not associated with any adverse effects.
As Coma stated, it could actually be symptomatic of caffeine withdrawal!

I was thinking of teabags, since they're usually lower and around 10-15mg per cup, depending on how long it brews for. Using NU_nutrition_TS's sums it could mean you're down from 360mg a day to as little as 80mg.
Maybe thats it then fellas.... I'll keep at it for now.
i am also drinking less cups of GT to coffee - as I don't actually like it a huge deal compared to coffee....
Will keep going though - see how I get on. As it seems quite isolated to myself then i agree its probably something in my adjusting to the change in lifestyle.
